Hear from Chelsi in her own words about why she became a family law attorney:

As the daughter and stepdaughter of two successful family law attorneys, and the middle child in a wonderfully blended family of six, I have a unique perspective in the field of family law. Growing up, dinner conversations in my family often revolved around trial strategy, case management, and plans for crafting unique legal arguments that were designed to win even the most complex cases. I began working in family law at the age of seventeen. Over the years, I’ve worked in just about every position one can for a family law firm.

I ventured further south for College, to a beautiful town affectionately known as Death Valley to those of us who bleed orange and purple. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Clemson University and went on to attend law school at the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill. During law school, I continued to focus on the field of family law, interning with both a private family law firm as well as a non-profit firm.

After law school, I chose to spread my {southern} wings and moved to Los Angeles, California where I practiced family law at a prestigious firm in Beverly Hills. During my free time, I volunteered with the domestic violence clinic in Santa Monica, where I helped victims of violence obtain protective orders. While I loved practicing in the “90210” and living on the west coast, Carolina called me home.

It is my passion to educate and empower my clients so that they feel confident and at ease throughout every stage of their family law case. My goal is to understand your goals and then use my experience to help you achieve those goals. While no outcome can be guaranteed, you’ll find comfort in knowing that I, and every team member with McIlveen Family Law, are on your side and working tirelessly to accomplish your ideal result.

When I’m not in the office, you’ll often find me spending time with my family, hiking Crowder’s Mountain with my dogs Bowman and Charlie, or enjoying a good book.
