Sarah Izzell-Cutler

Job Title

Sarah Izzell-Cutler, family law attorneySarah Izzell-Cutler is a family law attorney in our Raleigh office. She represents clients in all areas of family law including child custody, child support, alimony, domestic violence, equitable distribution, divorce, mediation, separation agreements, and adoptions.

Hear from Sarah in her own words about why she became a family law attorney:

I grew up in a family dealing with the aftermath of divorce, and I remember on one occasion hearing a family member say, “I wish someone would have fought for me.” I decided right then that I wanted to be an advocate for individuals going through the process of separation and divorce.

I attended North Carolina State University where I received dual degrees in English and Psychology. After graduating from college, I enrolled at Campbell University School. There, I had the opportunity to develop my advocacy skills by competing on the Moot Court team, interning with several area law firms, and volunteering with the Blanchard Community Law Clinic. I graduated near the top of my class and was inducted into the Order of Old Kivett for exemplary representation in advocacy competitions.  I then clerked for the Honorable Judge Tobias Hampson at the North Court of Appeals.

I understand that family law touches on the most personal aspects of someone’s life and that the decisions made in a case will have long-lasting consequences. That is why I approach every case with compassion and a quick wit. I work with my clients to understand what they want and develop comprehensive strategies to help them meet their goals.

Outside of the office, you can find me spending time with my husband and German Shorthaired Pointer, reading fiction, and cheering on the NC State Wolfpack!
